How do you know which club to use?
Hi all, trying to learn a little golf … with all the options the club, how to know when what club to use under what conditions. I certainly agree that the driver, putter and SW, but what irons / woods? What is the difference between 5 and 6 and when you use em? Thank you!
This really comes down to the distance she has left, its lie, the course conditions, which shot you want to hit, and how far can hit that shot to the distance that remains. Let me give an example. Distances typical club should be 10 feet between the clubs. I hit my PW 140, 9I 150, etc. However, There have been times when I have reached 9I 140 yards, because I have a headwind. Or maybe I'm under a tree, so I'll get my 4I and a punch shot. I even when I got my driver 20 yards to the left! Once you find out how far can a bullet in a full swing, limited only by your imagination. Sometimes you want hit the ball farther than when the pin is because it will roll down to the location of pins, so sometimes you just want to point to the left or right of where you want the ball to finish. Heck, if you are really good, throw the ball from a rock in a car that crashed into a television tower, through a maze of pipes and the hole!
